Cold room and freezer installation

Expanding cold storage capacity

HPS was engaged by Food Process Engineering to design and install a new cold room and freezer facility for a meat distribution operation in Scotland. The client required increased storage capacity to support growing demand and improve operational efficiency.

A bespoke, large-scale installation

The project involved the construction of a cold room measuring approximately 25m x 15m x 7m high. Built using high-performance insulated panels, the system was designed to maintain consistent temperatures and ensure reliable long-term operation.

Engineered for performance and protection

To support the freezer installation, we incorporated an insulated floor, heater mat and concreted base. This combination helps to prevent frost heave, protects the structure and ensures stable performance in a temperature-controlled environment.

Supporting a growing distribution operation

The completed installation provides the client with significantly increased storage capacity, enabling them to continue supplying meat products to butchers across Scotland. Designed for efficiency, durability and compliance, the new facility supports both current operations and future growth.
